Digital Archiving

Need a professional archivist to assess, digitize, curate, or activate your collection? With over three years of experience in digital archiving, Allison brings both technical skill and curatorial insight to every project. In her role at TFI, she has contributed to building archival workflows, preservation and data storage models, organizational-wide stylistic guides for metadata, and launch plans (including press, social media, creative accompaniments) for collections in the TFI Digital Archive. She is competent in digitizing VHS, Hi-8, miniDV tapes, audiocassettes, optical media (CD-R/DVD-R), 3.5″ floppy disks, websites, film, photographs, and paper materials.

Looking to incorporate archival material in your upcoming documentary, film, or creative project? Allison is an Archival Producer with a specialization in cultural and social justice works. She has a wide-range of experience, from researching individual photographers archival collections, to scouring Getty databases, and finding footage from local News Stations. Beyond her contextual knowledge of these material sources, Allison ensures every asset is properly licensed, credited, and budgeted—delivering a seamless archival process from start to finish.

workshop facilitator

Interested in adding a workshop to your cultural programming or professional development offerings?Allison has designed facilitated over a dozen sessions on archival concepts, ethical considerations, digitizing tapes, and more. She also regularly lectures in undergraduate and graduate classes to share her knowledge about feminist and queer histories, and archival practices.

Her work includes adopting and customizing new instances, UAT testing, building dashboards and reports to support grantmaking and fundraising, day-to-day troubleshooting, and designing internal support systems for staff.
